Marcia Hamilton Cotter is Chief Executive Officer/President of Parkinson’s Specialty Care. Currently she operates multiple housing-with-services sites in the Twin Cities area serving individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. She has been actively involved in the long-term care profession for more than 20 years and holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Marcia has served on NCAL’s Board of Directors as an At-Large member from 2011-2015. Marcia has served as a board member to Care Providers of Minnesota, the Struthers Parkinson’s Center Advisory Board, and Edina Care Residence where she served as their Executive Director. She also served as treasurer for the Minnesota Residential Care Providers Network. She is a recipient of the 2009 Struthers Parkinson’s Center Silverstein Award. In 2011 her organization received two Care Providers of Minnesota awards for Employee of the Year and Nurse/Caregiver of the Year and received the NCAL/AHCA bronze Quality award. Cotter was also recognized by the National Parkinson’s Foundation of Minnesota as a top Philanthropist and has been published in several local and national periodicals.
